Having worked extensively with the Squerryes Estate on where the Filint & Oak farmshop sits, we were invited to brand their latest venture - a delicatessan and farm shop selling the best local produce and artisan foods from around the world.

As the farm shop would sit directly opposite the Squerryes Winery on the retail park the owners were keen that Flint & Oak should have it's own distinct brand.

We purposely designed a logo that used a simple typograhy lockup to set it apart from the regal and more elaborate Squerryes mark. The distressed typography and box lend the logo a hardworking organic feel whilst the upper case condensed font gives the brand a contemporary and sophisticated edge.

The orange was originally chosen to blend well with the dark stained wood of the barn whilst the  secondary palette of ochres, greys and creams were chosen to add contrast and flexibility to the brand.

Hand drawn illustrations were introduced as a device to soften the brand and enhance the organic nature of the produce.
